About the event
Recently, the Export Credit Insurance Corporation (ECIC) commissioned the SME AfCFTA Awareness surveyas it sought to gain insights  on the state of awareness and knowledge by South African small businesses of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) and the impact the agreement will likely have on local SMEs.
Some banking institutions and economic development agencies have also taken note of the opportunities that could flow from the implementation of the AfCFTA. To this end, surveys and research reports on trade opportunities for SA companies, especially SMEs, have been produced.
This breakfast edition, part of a series of quarterly breakfast sessions organised by the IoCE, seeks to explore the key enablers that are required to ensure that SMEs stake their claim on the vast opportunities AfCFTA heralds.
We seek to attract key industry players including business advisors, trade policy experts, enterprise deveopment specialists, business incubators, export trade finance providers to share insights on how best to unlock sustainable export opportunities for local SMEs.
